Where does the CurrentUser data come from originally? If it comes from an API and is then stored in the variable you expose, then it will not be available when viewing through context (in editor, it will work in production). We're discussing ways to add test-data to APIs.
We're definitely not done improving on the editor experience around context, so we will have a solution for better testdata when working with context combined with API data in the future.
