Hi Robert! If this is a db on your local machine, this is barely even possible. And you need some sort of api gateway in between. I'd opt for a hosted backend as Patrick suggested

Hello Max...Thanks for your comments...My potential analytics clients are reluctant to store their data anywhere but on their local servers, hence my attempt to prototype on my local machine...I will look into the suggested backends anyway...Rob

Well, they can use their own servers, if they are reachable via the internet and have an api gateway

They could add a PostgREST layer to the db
Which is basically what supabase does

But it’s a Max says, without an API layer or middleware of some sort then nothing can access it

By default toddle uses a proxy for all API requests, this lest us do things like manage access cookies, an circumvent cors issues.
To call an API on localhost you would need to turn of the proxy on the API
toddle also does not have a direct way of speaking to postgres, so you would need a HTTP server running on localhost.
