Popover for profile settings

Whats the best way to build a profile settings modal as shown in the screenshot? Now its a popover but I struggle with the placement. I want it to be placed directly below the parent button which is a problem when the screen width changes

Popovers are really tricky. The native browser support is somewhat there, but anchoring the element is still not possible out of the box. If you don‘t mind using a package, there are Popovers and Dropdowns in Spark Core (unstyled) and in the toddle template Spark One (prestyled). They have all the functionality baked in.
