Keydown event formula

Hi guys. I'm trying to make it so that a variable is set to true when the user hits Enter on an input field. However, with my current setup the variable is switching to true as soon as I type anything in the input field, not just Enter. I'm sure I'm misunderstanding something with this formula. I've attached a screenshot of my formula, which is set on the If branch of the switch statement in my keydown workflow. Does anyone know what I'm missing?

Hi Wyatt! First, you don't need the quotes. But that is not the issue. The formula itself looks fine. Can you give a bit more context? What does the workflow look like? You can also just share your project URL and I'll have a look, if it is public

You might be missing a switch too
Depending on what you're trying to do
But Max is right, no quotes

Yes, Max and Lucas are correct. You definitely need a switch to check If event > key > equals Enter so that all other key presses are ignored and remove the quotes for ”Enter” and just add Enter as the string value.

What is the actual use case? is it only when the user hits Enter, or also when they tab away from the input?
If that is the case then you can use the "change
event

Hi guys, thanks so much for your help, this kind of support is incredible. The use case is I'm trying to build a basic AI chat interface, and I want the user to be able to hit enter to submit the chat, like with Claude and ChatGPT. When they do, I want the initial chat screen to fade and be replaced by the conversation screen. I have switch in my workflow, but I must've set it up incorrectly. In that example, the variable will always be set to true as it is outside the switch logic
If you want that to happen only on Enter press, then place it under the “If” workflow
