How good do Nordcraft websites rank on Google?

Hi there, I have the website marlume.com and I’m trying to rank with this website on Google but it doesn’t rank. All the pages you see on Google are there because I manually uploaded them. This is the sitemap: https://marlume.com/sitemap.xml and this is robots: https://marlume.com/robots.txt. The website has been online for a few months and I feel like Google is refusing to publish the website. As you will see, there are pages in the sitemap that don’t exist on Google: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Amarlume.com. I feel like something isn’t going well with Nordcraft for ranking. I used to build websites in Visual Studio and never had issues with ranking, always after a few days on Google all of them were present and visible and I was recommended in search after a month. Is there something I’m doing wrong or is Nordcraft? How do you guys feel about ranking on Google?

A few notes:
- Your robots.txt file mentions your sitemap is at https://www.marlume.ro/sitemap.xml - but it seems the www. subdomain does not exist? I suggest you fix the url in your robots.txt file
- Your manifest seems to have an invalid syntax according to the console when I load your site (see screenshot)
- There are a few improvements suggested by Lighthouse that might be useful to look into - mainly around using smaller images.

Thank you, Erik. I’ve fixed the robots file and the manifest. The sitemap was the critical issue. At the same time, I checked all the links I manually added in Search Console (months ago) and tested whether all the URLs are indexed on Google (which they are), but they still aren’t visible on Google. I understand the critical issue with the robots file, but in Search Console all of them appear as visible and indexed, yet they still don’t show up on Google. requested a new index to google of the website. Hope the issue with the robots will fixe the visibility. Regarding search console, it indicates api's query cURLs as not indexed pages and duplicates, do you know how to fix that? Maybe this one is impacting too.

I suppose all of those are APIs urls, because I do not have such a page "items". but I have a database table named items.

Those URLs are very strange.

I believe those URLs are indexed because they're part of the serialized output from our SSR process. We persist the full response from you API calls evaluated during SSR - including the headers of those requests. Google sometimes visits some of those URLs even though they're in a json object in the dom.
I don't think they hurt your score, but you could block them using your robots file if you want to.
It's never easy to know when/why Google ranks as they do. After rebranding from toddle -> Nordcraft, it took 5 months before Google recognized our new domain 🤷‍♂️

Those are all js resources needed to load your pages (if you use any custom formulas/actions). You can also exclude those requests using theh robots file if you want
This is the sitemap for nordcraft.com. We're not blocking the custom-code.js requests - mainly to make sure Google runs js when they're crawling. https://nordcraft.com/robots.txt

Is there a way on your site to limit them? Because all the branches are listed too on google.
I have a branch that is popular as the main domain 😅 .

I do not want my customers to open start-marlume.toddle.site. That is a development branch, but google is indexing this branch and I don't want that because maybe there I'm testing tings that will never end on production, but by mistake some users could visit that link. I know that I can use redirect, or robots limitations, but will be easier to not list that branches at all. Maybe you can use the free accounts to list on goole, but private ones I would prefer to have branches not listed on google, limited by Nordcraft not forcing me to update constantly robots and redirection based on what branch I create.

Based on google rules, that could create duplicates on internet and impact your ranking (you have two websites with the same content).

It's a valid point. We'll discuss this internally and potentially add a <meta name="robots" content="nofollow, noindex" /> on non-custom domains https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Elements/meta/name/robots

Regarding this, it is possible to do something on Nordcraft, in order to limit that urls ending on google? Maybe doesn't hurt, but a test would be awesome.

We will need to discuss internally first. In the meantime I suppose you could add the <meta /> element yourself on all pages and set content to nofollow, noindex if the url is not marlume.com, and index, follow for the marlume.com domain

Definitely, I will do that, and thank you for your recommendations. I mentioned this kind of solution because not everyone can investigate, and it could impact SEO performance. Nordcraft is a great tool, so why not use it for websites as well, not just applications?
