Context, Workflows & Global Variables

Hi Guys,I have a couple of questions, I will appreciate if anyone can help:1) I am having a hard time understanding Contexts and Workflows in Toddle, I see them in some packages, but I don’t understand how they do what they do.2) How can I make a particular variable Global, what I mean is , how can I make a variable be available to use in other pages. I found out that if I create a variable in a particular page, I can’t use it in another page.Thank you

Variables have a specific scope - page or component. See https://docs.nordcraft.com for more information on this.

Context allows data to be passed between components without having to pass everything down through attributes and back via events.

In your case, if you wanted to make data available to a component, you’d need to make it available in context or pass it via an attribute.

Can you share what you’re trying to do? Either myself or someone else in the community might be able to help provide some specific examples.

Have you checked out the documentation and toddle’s YT channel? There’s a good amount of information readily available.

Take a look at the videos in the toddle channel, they cover them pretty well

Hi @Tom Ireland I am creating notification thing for success and error on nearly all api calls, so I need to set them manually eveerytime, workflow helps but I need to copy paste them from one page to another, would be great if I coud easily access them on all pages

That’s what contexts are for. If you create them in a global wrapper or at top of element tree then all child elements can access it
