Help me understand the Nordcraft approach:

When am I editing the parent component, and when am I editing the child / instance?

In Webflow, you can only edit instances via props / attributes, but it looks like in Nordcraft you can apply styles to an individual component without affecting the parent? What is the context of those rules? 🙏🏼

I think referring them as parent/child might be confusing but I get what you're saying
  • By parent I assume you mean editing the component itself, if so then that should be your 'default' style

You can then style individual instances if they need something different, for example you usually need background-color to be white but in this one instance I need it to be a light grey
  • Attributes are good for anything that needs to be calculated

So if I drag a component onto a page and make changes to it, those are scopes only to that instance, correct? I have to enter the explicit “component editing” mode in order to change all instances?
