Hey are there plans to support some editing mode for clients?

Iโ€™m moving away from webflow due to performance and lack of customizability issues. (I need SSR for my Pages)

For our customers it is always pleasing that they have full access to their pages to (on the fly) change some things.

Obvious Problem: for each customer im inviting im paying 34 USD - AND they have access to viewing other client projects and can obviously completely destroy their website.

A simple edit mode for just images & text would be highly appreciated.

    Solution 2:

If there would be an API access to the pages we could als build this by ourselves and integrate this into our backend. This would also solve these kind of issues.

Is there anything planned on the long / mid run? Would be definitely a huge + for Nordcraft in terms of broad awareness. (Ppl would get to know Nordcraft more because more end users would directly access Nordcraft and get a glimpse of the great product) - not just devs.

That is not on our roadmap right now. But if they're helping you out and adjusting content/text, isn't it fair that they are on a paid seat?

Just to clarify, clients who are added to your organization don't have access to all of your projects by default. Atm you will need to invite them to each project separately - mainly to avoid external users/consultants/testers from having edit access to all projects when they are invited.

Ah okey that makes sense. Iโ€™m just asking because weโ€™re transitioning clients from webflow to toddle and a bump from 14usd to 34 (I guess itโ€™s 34 currently) is a lot. Obviously weโ€™re charging the client noch 14 usd but a lot of clients are self hosting on their own webflow account.

It is definitively fair to share a buck to you guys.

But in terms of value to the customer (value to the devs is absolutely INSANE) a bump for our client from 20usd with translations to 34 + our external costs for translations is a bit salty.

My idea was if it maybe possible to add editors for idk 10 15 bucks so pricing is for this scope compatible to f.e. Webflow.

Maybe itโ€™s also our customer base and a German thing that ppl have a HUGE problem with reoccurring monthly costs.

Our customers are often pretty small - and therefore do not need 100k pages - 1 - 5 is generally the max.

But in general: We have to still figure out how to use Nordcraft optimal for client work. We build a simple backend & image delivery and transform service to give each client the possibility to change images and collection items by himself.

Just SIMPLE and clean. We do not need a huge backend like directus. Just image delivery, 1 or 2 collections (opening times, job posts, blog posts) and the translation thing. This will all be in this single backend. Obviously without a visual editor for now but itโ€™s all what they need on a regular basis.

I do NOT want to undermine your Pricing strategy. ๐Ÿ™‚ just wanted to lead awareness to this. Because you can see this from different perspectives. And I know as a moderately new tech company you guys need to bump up pricing to deliver this awesome service. And I really appreciate all your work in making the experience and performance so good. The SSR out of this world.

    Hey!

Thank you for bringing this up.

It sounds like the ideal solution in your case would be to use a CMS.
I personally like DatoCMS but there are also open source options one the market.

This would also be a much better editing experience for your customers if they are not so familiar with HTML.
